How can I join? Any Sun City resident RCSC card holder. Talk to the wonderful people at the front desk and they can sign you up. Membership is $10 per year. Guests of RCSC cardholders pay the $2.50 RCSC guest fee per session.
What does our club offer?

We have a weekly jam session from 3-4:30PM every Thursday at the Fairway Recreation Center (10600 W Peoria Ave, Sun City, AZ 85351) in the 2nd floor music room. We sing and play our ukes.

We also have an Acoustic Jam Group that meets the 1st/3rd Sundays 2:30-4:30pm at Fairway Recreation Center (October - May); if you’d like to know more about the acoustic group contact Peter Ceci at email address: peterceci@mcn.org.

We also do several performances throughout the year; fundraisers, RCSC’s Fall Arts & Crafts Festival and various other performances for churches and RCSC clubs.
Club History: Mark Baker was invited to perform at the annual Sun City Variety Show in 2011. During the show Mark asked if anyone was interested in starting a ukulele club. About a dozen people stepped forward to learn how to play. We started out as a Special Interest Group of the Rhythm Ramblers but became a chartered club in November of 2011 with our first President, Roger Scharenbroich.
Purchasing Your First Ukulele: There is no right or wrong place to purchase your ukulele and individual preferences dictate what type of ukulele is best for you. For your first ukulele you should plan to spend between $50 and $200. There are several sources to purchase from and the internet is certainly a good one. However, it is probably best to have an idea of what size ukulele you are looking for first, ie a soprano, concert or tenor. So, talk to other members and ask them what they have and what they recommend. Listen to the different instruments. Some new members have purchased their ukuleles directly from other club members. Ask if any are for sale.
